About ION Strings
ION is a string quartet based in Austin, Texas. We perform year-round at weddings, private events, and community concerts. We play all styles of music and specialize in pop arrangements.
Our Story
Our group met at the University of Texas at Austin. We were all college students looking for a way to keep our love for music alive. As luck would have it, we all joined an orchestral student group at UT and were randomly assigned into a chamber group together.

After a semester of late-night rehearsals in student dorms and West Campus apartments, our debut performance was a feature in a student chamber recital.

Since then, we've stuck together and have performed at weddings, private events, and concerts around central Texas. ION is named after the West Campus apartment complex where we met and had our first rehearsal.
